Unfortunately Long Table: Space & Future on Wednesday 15 September has been postponed. If you have booked tickets you do not need to do anything at the moment; we are working with the producers to secure a new date and we will update you with more information as soon as we can.
Before Them, We is an exhibition currently showcasing at the Black Cultural Archives in Brixton, which explores the lives of grandparents & intergenerational relationships of African descent in the UK and how we archive and preserve oral histories. Join us for the second Preservation Long Table event, holding space and conversation with local communities and some of the UK’s leading culture-changing practitioners to discuss how we (re)imagine spaces and futures that centre Black communities in the UK.
Pioneered by practitioner and activist Lois Weaver, the long table is a dinner-party format where conversation is the only course. Everyone in the room has the power and imperative to shift the direction of conversation, to mediate moments of tension and to make space for voices less easily heard. You can find out more about the Long Table format here.
Audiences are invited to participate, challenge, witness and guide the conversation. Full invited table members to be announced soon!
Please note, this event is postponed. Look out for a future date soon.
