Roundhouse Rising: Fuck The Whiteboard 2nd Anniversary

25 Feb 2011 / Studio Theatre

Roundhouse Rising: Fuck The Whiteboard 2nd Anniversary Special

One of the best new music nights in London,is coming to the Roundhouse. Expect an immersive audience experience with Swimming confirmed as headliners alongside DT, Beaty Heart and Chicago DJ, Brenmar.

Swimming: As befits their name, Swimming are a fluid proposition. Their songs flow gracefully from genre to genre, grunge lapping the shores of ambient, shoegaze seeping into glam, post-punk merging with post-rock, and so on, until all you’re left with is a sound that is uniquely Swimming’s. myspace.com/swimmingband

DT: An exciting new synthed-up pop band with punk influenced vocals.

Beaty Heart: Described by Manchester Music as sounding "like a party in a rainforest heard through a few hundred yards of assorted wildlife". This thought-provoking group will entice you with their mystifying sound.

Brenmar: Hotly tipped NYC based producer Brenmar's fun, relevant productions have been causing a stir in NYC for months, and now it's finally time for his London debut. Expect saccharine sweet tracks with a raw, grimy backbone, exemplifying the club aesthetic of 2011.

As well as a strong emphasis on young programmers getting involved in the festival, there will also be creative projects for 11-25s running throughout the week. Projects include remixing, sound engineering, film, radio, photography and fanzine production.

As part of this event, we are hosting a special Fanzine project hosted by Clinic. Take inspiration from the artists performing and design, make and present your own art. Also join the Music Video Masterclass with the award-winning Jonny Stopford who has worked on many groundbreaking video productions, providing visuals for Chemical Brothers, BBC and Channel 4.
