BBC Concert Orchestra fuses old with new to bring you Baroque Remixed.
It’s Moogs vs. orchestra in a new, electrifying version of Bach’s ‘Sarabande’ by Will Gregory. One half of pop sensation Goldfrapp, Gregory brings together his Moog collective and their magnificent synthesizing machines.
Matthew Herbert turns up the dial and takes the music of Rameau to new sonic levels. He mashes unplugged with wired in his latest work for orchestra and electronics.
Thomas Adès’s Three Studies from Couperin has all the Baroque swing and style of the harpsichord, restyling it with layer upon layer of orchestral sound.
Up-and-coming composers Marisa Hartanto and Anne-Marie O’Farrell answered the BBC Concert Orchestra’s challenge to rewrite Purcell’s ‘Rondeau’. The outcome? One Baroque masterpiece transformed into two fresh and original works.
Trendsetter Stravinsky remixed the music of Pegolesi in his dance hit Pulcinella. Combining all the tricks and trills of Baroque, it straddles the soundworlds of ancient and modern.
Tickets for Baroque Remixed are free. There are a limited number of spaces so please note that a ticket doesn't guarantee entry. Please leave plenty of time to arrive at the Roundhouse on the night.
