Centre 59 is an accessible space and entry point for young people to the artform of storytelling in theatre and the performing arts. Core to Centre 59 is the mission to build young artists who learn to share their own stories through a programme of writing, acting, directing and producing.
Centre 59 is a creative partnership from Roundhouse and 59% Productions, spearheaded by Roundhouse Associate Artistic Director Daniel Kaluuya.
In November 2024 Centre 59 launched a new young theatre company for ages 18-25. Over six months young people learned the fundamentals of storytelling and work with their peers to devise a new theatre production that was performed live at the Roundhouse in April 2025, as part of Roundhouse Three Sixty Festival.
The programme gives young people an insight into what it’s like to create and perform in a professional setting.
Performing pieces devised entirely by its members, Sonder(s) was a celebration of the voices of emerging young talent. With Director Evelyn Duah and Associate Director Louie Keen.
