Let All That We Imagine Be The Light is Garbage’s eighth album – expansive, cinematic and deeply human. Written during an unexpected pause in the band’s world, the record emerged after frontwoman Shirley Manson was forced to halt touring due to a serious injury. What first felt like a rupture became a creative reset. As Manson recovered, bandmates Butch Vig, Duke Erikson and Steve Marker built vast, atmospheric soundscapes, which she transformed into lyrics shaped by vulnerability, mortality and resilience.

Where No Gods No Masters was confrontational and urgent, this album finds strength in tenderness and hard-won hope. Musically rich and dramatic – with driving basslines, sharp riffs and filmic scale – the songs explore love, survival and the beauty of imperfection. It’s a powerful statement from a band still pushing forward, still searching, and still unafraid to evolve.
