“Exploring voices in a whole new way… Extraordinary improvisation”
Mary Anne Hobbs, BBC 6 Music

Trans Voices is UK’s first professional Trans+ Choir, co-founded by artists Anil Sebastian and Coda Galabov will create an improvisatory immersive live sound bath experience using only their voices – working with the beautiful and utterly unique acoustics of Roundhouse Dorfman Hub. In-the-moment, liminal yet joyful.

Established as a collective, Trans Voices is composed of eight core members and a diverse group of over twenty trans+ vocalists. Trans Voices has received support and contributions from artists such as Roundhouse artist in residence – writer, poet and actress Reece Lyons and award-winning violinist and composer Anna Phoebe.

Anil Sebastian, co-founder of Trans Voices said: “As the first professional Trans+ choir in the UK, we are here to reclaim the spaces transgender voices are seldom heard in and to explore our voices within them in new ways”.

Coda Galabov, cofounder of Trans Voices said: “We developed new ways of singing outside the traditional gender binary of ‘male’ and ‘female’ voices – new possibilities that celebrate the uniqueness of our voices”
