A tongue-twisting, thigh-slapping, tear-jerking poetry-cabaret show.
Created and hosted by poetry-clown Talia Randall, this sell-out, text-based variety show features a kaleidoscope of performances, from drag artists, BSL poets, rising stars of the spoken word scene to masters of puns and political satire.
BSL interpreted by Martin Fox-Roberts and Jacqui Beckford. This will be a captioned performance.
Richard Carter, one of the UK’s foremost Deaf poets will be performing groundbreaking BSL poetry.
Ginger Johnson, a helium balloon in the shape of a woman making loud, surprising work for theatres, cabaret, nights clubs and beyond. Ginger will be writing a ‘speed poem’ made from audience suggestions.
Rachel Long, the founder of Octavia – Poetry Collective for Women of Colour, will be performing her signature stunning poetry.
Raymond Antrobus, will be reading from his new book The Perseverance, A Sunday Time and The Guardian Poetry Book of the Year 2018.
Amani Saeed, whose work explores the crisis cultivated by living between sometimes (but not always) contradictory cultures, treading the line between masjid and mini skirt. Saeed will be performing her electric, strident and brave poems at the show.
Byron Vincent, a darkly funny and playful poet and social activist turning lived experiences of poverty and mental ill health into staggering performances.
