Self Made Online: How to Lead Creative Projects Like a Pro

Ages 18-30

Online

What does good leadership look like in the creative industries today?

In this practical workshop, you’ll explore how to lead creative projects compassionately and collaboratively.

Led by theatre-maker and creative leader Dan Boyden, this workshop gives you real tools, prompts, and strategies to build the kind of leadership style that works for you

Drawing on two decades of experience as a creative freelancer, Dan will explore:

  • The power of networks and peer collaboration
  • How to centre care in an industry that values productivity
  • Community-led leadership models that actually work

What do I get by taking part?

  • Tools to lead creative projects with compassion and collaboration
  • A clearer understanding of your leadership strengths—and how to grow them
  • Space to explore different leadership models and shape your own style

Who is leading the session?

Dan Boyden is a theatre maker, director, consultant, and facilitator. He has built a career, over two decades, designing and delivering creative leadership projects in the U.K and Internationally. He is currently working across the criminal justice setting, using theatre in prisons, and is bringing large scale legislative theatre projects to a number of organisations working across the charity sector. Dan is a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellow and has recently run the Creative leadership programme at Roundhouse on 2023 and 2024. His 2017 Ted Talk focuses on the work he does and the approach he takes.
