Love music? Ever wanted to learn how to make it? Find out how to DJ, produce your own music and write songs with support from professional music tutors at our weekly Saturday morning sessions for 11-14-year-olds.

This drop-in is for anyone interested in trying something new, developing a range of musical skills and collaborating with others. You don’t need any previous experience making music to join in.

What You’ll Do

Each week, you’ll take part in one of three strands:

Songwriting – Write your own lyrics, craft melodies, play in a band and explore how songs come together.
DJing – Learn to mix tracks, beatmatch, basic EQ, and build your confidence behind the DJ decks.
Music Production – Get hands-on with industry-standard music software (Digital Audio Workstation), create and produce your own tracks from scratch.

When you arrive, you’ll choose one strand to focus on for that session. If one strand is already full, you’ll be asked to join one of the other two — this helps make sure everyone gets a great experience.

We’ll have a relaxed showcase for participants on Saturday, 21 March – more details to come after the term starts. You can choose to perform or just come along to watch and enjoy a creative, friendly space.

How to join

This is a drop-in session, meaning you don’t have to book in advance. Just come to Roundhouse Studios and pay £2 on arrival. You will be asked to choose one skill (DJing/Music Production/Songwriting) to learn in the session.

It’s first-come, first-served with limited spaces. Booking opens 30 minutes beforehand. Arrive by the start time at the latest to sign in. Latecomers will be admitted only if there is space.
