How to Pitch and Manage Your Media Project

Got an idea for a film, video, podcast or other media project? Want to learn how to pitch and manage it?

This is a chance for emerging creatives to take part in a session that will provide the skills needed to pitch and manage a creative media project, which can be applied to both personal and professional pursuits. 

The workshop will cover the stages of planning, execution and delivery of a project. Participants will have an understanding of project management within the context of the creative industry. 

What will I get from taking part?

  • Gain practical skills in planning, budgeting, delegation, and time management
  • Build confidence in your ability to bring creative ideas to life
  • Strengthen key skills that support both freelance work and roles within creative organisations

Who will be teaching the project?

Nikita Longdon

With 10 years experience, Nikita has worked both in-house and agency side working on high impact highly creative campaigns heading up and building creative studio teams from scratch, defining project workflow processes as well as being part of creative ideation and large production projects.

Nikita has delivered a wide range of media projects such as TV campaigns, social media activations and shoot productions working with the likes of Peloton, Adidas, Expedia and Lego. 

Luke Thompson-Allen

Luke, co-founder of Sata Studios, is a self shooting director who has directed, filmed and edited many types of videos including global campaigns, music videos and festival after-movies. Starting off his career in 2016 in the events and entertainment industry, Luke developed a keen eye for event capture. Building on his videography, he quickly broadened his expertise to include creative direction. Since Sata’s inception, the company has shot and directed content for Vogue, Nike, Adidas, Primark, Meta and many more.

Do I need any particular skills or experience to take part?

We welcome everyone to attend, whether you’re a producer, a podcaster or a video maker with heaps of experience, a creative lover, or are completely new to the industry.#

If you need help to pay for things like project fees, transport or childcare, we can help. Find out how you can get support. If you are using a bursary to pay for the project, please ensure you arrange this with the Advice Base with plenty of time before the start of the project.
