Introduction to Storytelling in Film

Ages 18-30

Have a great film idea but don’t know how to get it onto the page?

Step into the world of screenwriting and learn how to transform your initial concepts into industry-standard scripts.

This intensive workshop covers the entire storytelling journey—from generating loglines and mastering the five-act structure to the technicalities of professional formatting. You’ll explore how to build memorable, three-dimensional characters that drive your narrative and learn the “rules” of genre that every writer needs to know.

By the end of the session, you’ll have a clear roadmap for your screenplay and the confidence to be taken seriously by producers.

What you’ll gain:

  • Structural Toolkit: Master the five-act formula to break down your story into a compelling, professional arc.
  • Character Development: Discover how to create complex characters with clear motivations that inform your story.
  • Industry Software Knowledge: Learn how to format your work to meet industry standards with an overview of screenwriting software like Final Draft and Celtx.
  • Q&A with an Expert: Gain direct insight into the life of a scriptwriter and the wider filmmaking process.

About the Tutor

The workshop is led by Georgia Goggin, a highly experienced producer and filmmaker. With a wealth of industry knowledge and professional credits, Georgia brings real-world experience from the UK film sector directly to the studio.

Experience Level

All levels are welcome. Whether you’re an aspiring screenwriter with a notebook full of ideas or a filmmaker looking to sharpen your narrative skills, no previous experience is required—just a love for storytelling.
