The hunt for the third place continues… at the Roundhouse.
Join Katie Stokes for the first live recording of her award-winning podcast Floating Space, in conversation with special guest Chanté Joseph andDr Debbie Weekes-Bernard
Born from Katie’s own experience of loneliness after moving to London as a remote worker, Floating Space explores “third places” – not home, not work, but the spaces in between where we belong. Developed at Transmission Roundhouse, the podcast has since been featured in The Guardian, BBC 5 Live and PodcastRex and won an International Women’s Podcast Award.
Floating Space: Live was created for community, curiosity, and connection: uncover London’s overlooked third places and find inspiration to help you find or create your own third place. You’ll also hear behind-the-scenes stories from the making of the podcast and have a chance for your voice or third place to be featured live or in a bonus episode.
Joining her is writer and broadcaster Chanté – host of The Guardian’s Culture Podcast and founder of Strangers in the City (event series tackling loneliness) – bringing her unique perspective on joy, play and community to this live conversation on identity, connection and belonging.
Also joining is Dr Debbie Weekes-Bernard, London’s Deputy Mayor for Communities and Social Justice. Debbie brings a wealth of experience in championing equality, inclusion and community voice across the capital. Through her work, she ensures that London’s diverse communities are not only heard but help shape the city’s policies and future.
This event is part of Roundhouse Studio Theatre Season 2025.
