Circus Skills and Aerial Drop In

Ages 11-14

Ever wanted to run away to the circus—or just learn how to fly?

Our weekly drop in workshops are the ultimate space to discover the exciting world of circus arts. From mastering gravity-defying aerial skills to ground-based acrobatics, you’ll get to try it all in a professional studio. Build physical confidence, coordination, and teamwork under the constant guidance of industry professionals.

At just £2 a session it’s only one of the only places in London where 11-14s can access professional-grade aerial equipment and training.

What you’ll get

  • Aerial Skills: Take to the air and learn how to use hoop, rope, static trapeze, and silks.
  • Ground Skills: Develop your balance and agility with acrobatics, parkour, juggling, tightwire and unicycling.
  • Physical Confidence: Build core strength and coordination through high-energy creative exercises.
  • Creative Teamwork: Work as part of a crew, building communication skills while learning new tricks.
  • Industry Access: Train directly with professional circus tutors who work in the arts industry.

Meet the Tutors

You will train with professional circus tutors who have years of experience performing and teaching globally. They are experts at breaking down complex movements into safe, achievable steps, ensuring every session is both challenging and supportive.

Experience Level

All levels are welcome. No previous experience is needed, whether you’re a complete beginner or have a dance or gymnastics background, these sessions are designed for you.

How to join

This is a drop in session, meaning you don’t have to book in advance. Just come to the Roundhouse Studios and pay £2 on arrival.

Spaces are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Booking opens 30 minutes before the session starts, and we recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early to sign in.

I’M NOT SURE I CAN AFFORD TO TAKE PART…

If you need help to pay for things like project fees, transport or childcare, we can help. Find out how you can get support. If you are using a bursary to pay for the project, please ensure you arrange this with the Advice Base with plenty of time before the start of the project.

I HAVE ADDITIONAL NEEDS. WHAT SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE?

We are committed to supporting D/deaf, disabled and neurodiverse young people, those with medical conditions, access requirements or any lived experience that may require adaptation, support or sensitivity. If there is anything you would like to let us (our youth workers, tutors or staff) know that will support your enjoyment and access, you can do so by emailing us at advicebase@roundhouse.org.uk, and we will contact you to discuss further how to best support your engagement.
