DJ for Beginners (15-17)

Ages 15-17

Ever wanted to take control of the sound? This one-off workshop is your entry into the world of DJing, starting right from the basics. You’ll move from being a listener to understanding how to command a room, working in a professional studio environment.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be hands-on with industry-standard equipment. It’s a collaborative space designed to help you find your rhythm, explore your musical taste, and see what it takes to build a seamless set.

Work alongside other young creators in a high-energy, focused session where the goal is simple: get comfortable with the kit and start mixing.

What you’ll get:

  • Direct experience using professional DJ decks and mixers in our dedicated studios.
  • Understanding of the core techniques of beatmatching, phrasing, and smooth transitions.
  • Gain practical tips and guidance from active Roundhouse resident DJs.
  • Build the technical skills and creative confidence to start your own DJ journey.

Who is teaching the project?

This session is led by two of the Roundhouse’s resident DJ tutors.

Do I need any particular skills or experience to take part?

Absolute Beginners. This is a zero-pressure environment designed specifically for those who have never touched a mixer before or are just starting out and want to sharpen their skills.
