Creative writing for spoken word and theatre

Ages 11-14

Roundhouse Studios

Interested in creative writing for different mediums like theatre and spoken word?

In this four day, half term course we’ll explore how to craft stories and build worlds using your own ideas. We’ll explore story structure, creating characters and developing narratives, and help you express your own voice through poetry and storytelling.

You’ll spend time playing creative games and getting to know each other as a group, build confidence in sharing ideas and expressing yourself in a comfortable, safe space. Then, we’ll work towards creating original pieces of work – both collaboratively and individually.

At the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to perform for friends and family in a relaxed and informal sharing. There’s never any pressure to perform if it doesn’t feel right for you!

Been before? Every term, we’ll explore new themes and bring in different tutors to lead the course, so you’ll always learn something fresh- even if you’ve taken part before!
