Herbert Gronemeyer

Herbert Gronemeyer

28 Oct 2012 / Roundhouse Main Space

Herbert Grönemeyer will bring his incredible live show back to London this October for the first time in five years. The multi-platinum award winning singer/musician/composer/film star will play the Roundhouse on Sunday 28th October.

More used to playing in packed out stadiums across Europe, Grönemeyer will play the more intimate setting of the Roundhouse, giving fans the chance to witness him in a very unique environment. His last headline performance here saw him raise the roof of the iconic Royal Albert Hall in front of a sold out crowd.

Grönemeyer’s forthcoming album, I Walk held the working title of Das English Album – for it is a tribute to the country that Herbert sought refuge and comfort in, following a private tragedy in 1998.
Appropriately, it’s Grönemeyer’s first release in his adopted homeland; a collection of songs in English, four reworked from his 2011 German release Schiffsverkehr (Shipping Traffic), six from older albums and three specially written for the record. The album features collaborations with internationally acclaimed artists Bono, Antony Hegarty (Antony & The Johnsons’) and James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers).

Since his first album release in 1979, Grönemeyer has sold tens of millions of albums, collected hundreds of gold and platinum awards. In 2002 he released the album Mensch which was certified gold 21 times over in Germany alone, making it the biggest selling LP in that region of all time.

Tickets: £32.50
