Our new Masterclass Series – Starting a Creative Business is designed to give you the essential knowledge and practical skills you need to launch and grow your business.
Over six masterclasses, you’ll learn from industry experts who have successfully navigated the creative sector. Each masterclass focuses on a fundamental aspect of starting a business, ensuring you have a strong foundation to build upon. Choose to attend one or all six sessions for just £5 per masterclass.
Week 1 – Business Planning with Isabel Sachs (Founder, I LIKE NETWORKING)
Get clarity on your vision and turn it into a realistic, achievable plan. Learn how to set goals, test your idea, budget, and build your support network. Drawing on two decades of experience leading projects for Converse, Red Bull and Lollapalooza, Isabel shows you how to turn big creative ambition into practical business plans that work.

Week 2 – Business Models with Isabel Sachs (Founder, I LIKE NETWORKING)
Explore different business models and income streams — and learn how to choose the one that fits your idea. Isabel shares lessons from founding the award-winning I LIKE NETWORKING – a platform that transformed from a lockdown project into an international brand – to help you build a structure that’s sustainable and scalable.
Week 3 – Money with Coco Financial
Set yourself up for financial success with this two-part session. Learn how to manage business finances, master budgeting, understand tax basics, and build financial resilience in uncertain times. Coco brings their experience supporting hundreds of UK creatives to help you avoid common money mistakes and build a business that supports both your art and your life.

Week 4 – Marketing with Daisy Morris (Founder, The Self Hood)
Define what your brand stands for and how to talk about it. Learn how to position yourself in a crowded market and build a practical marketing strategy using the right platforms for your business. Having built a loyal audience and client base for The Selfhood using authentic, values-led marketing, Daisy helps you cut through the noise and market your work in a way that feels true to you.

Week 5 – Sales with Daisy Morris
Get to grips with the sales funnel and learn how to build relationships that convert into paying clients. Daisy will walk you through how she’s helped creative businesses and founders turn community into customers, showing you how to sell without selling out.
Week 6 – Pitching with Tope Chiedozie (aka Icie, Founder of The Sitdown UK)
Learn how to craft and deliver a confident, compelling pitch. Get to grips with the structure, story and delivery — whether you’re speaking to funders, clients or collaborators. Tope draws from years of experience hosting live Q&As with icons like JME and Mo Gilligan, helping you refine your message and pitch with confidence, clarity and charisma.

This series is perfect for young, aspiring creative entrepreneurs who are just starting out. If you are between the ages of 18-30 and have an idea for a creative business but need guidance on how to get started, these masterclasses are for you.
No particular experience needed, but must be interested in building a career as a creative entrepreneur or freelancer.
Book one or multiple sessions for £5 per masterclass. Spaces are limited so book now to avoid disappointment.
If you need help to pay for things like project fees, transport or childcare, we can help. Find out how you can get support. If you are using a bursary to pay for the project, please ensure you arrange this with the Advice Base with plenty of time before the start of the project.
