Ever wondered how the worlds of gaming and filmmaking collide?

Join us for an evening dedicated to Virtual Production—the game-changing technology used in everything from The Mandalorian to high-end music videos.

Co-hosted by the Roundhouse and Fully Focused Productions, this session pulls back the curtain on how a virtual-production workflow actually works. We’re bringing together a panel of industry experts—including a Writer/Director, Engine Artist, Cinematographer, and Live Virtual Producer—to show you how storytelling, real-time tech, and on-set logistics come together to create digital worlds.

This is a chance to see how different creative roles collaborate from day one. Following the panel talk, there will be a networking session where you can connect with the speakers and meet other young filmmakers and technologists in the community.

  • Tech Foundations: Hear from an Engine Artist about building real-time environments and managing LED volumes.
  • Production Logistics: Learn how to manage crews, pipelines, and “pre-vis” to keep a digital shoot running smoothly.
  • Industry Hacks: Pick up best practices for early collaboration and learn how to avoid common pitfalls like engine latency or asset delays.

About Fully Focused

This event is co-hosted by the Roundhouse and Fully Focused Productions. 

Fully Focused is a youth-led production company making award-winning, high-impact film, TV and online content. An organisation with a social focus, every commission to Fully Focused enables young people to gain valuable experience, paid employment and transferable skills whilst simultaneously injecting every brief with an authentic youth voice.

Panelists

James Uren is the CTO at Mo-Sys Engineering and on-set Virtual Production Supervisor. Mo-Sys design and build robotics, tracking systems and software for film and television that enable visual effects and virtual production. Credits include The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Social Network, Life of Pi, The Shape of Water and Aquaman, and serial television credits include Stranger Things, House of Cards, Sherlock, Orange is the New Black among many more. In broadcast Mo-Sys have supported the likes of the BBC, ESPN, FOX, Sky and The Weather Channel.with SAS Rogue Heroes Seasons 1 and 2, as well as Season 3 which will be out later in the year or early next year.    

Buse Simon is a London-based Virtual Production Supervisor and Unreal Engine 5 Technical Artist, specialising in ICVFX/LED Volume productions across commercials, music videos, and episodic work from pre to post. She bridges the gap between creative vision and technical execution, building real-time pipelines from the ground up and stepping in as supervisor to ensure productions run smoothly under on-set pressure. Her credits include works for Demi Lovato, FKA twigs, and Morgan Freeman, global campaigns for Citroen, Wilson, Salomon and Google.

Herty Owusu is an award-winning writer, director and filmmaker who works across film, virtual production and creative technology. As the General Manager and Executive Producer at The Creative Digital Lab, she leads and collaborates on innovative projects that bring storytelling and technology together. Herty is also very passionate about supporting the next generation of creatives to develop their skills and build successful careers in the creative industries.

Ben Saffer is an award-winning cinematographer and Virtual Production Supervisor with more than 15 years of experience across feature films, television, and commercial productions. Having worked on major productions including No Time to Die, Bridgerton, and The Meg 2, he combines extensive on-set expertise with a deep understanding of virtual production and emerging filmmaking technologies. As the founder of Supervision, Ben provides independent consultancy to film-makers, producers, and studios, helping them integrate virtual production and hybrid filmmaking workflows in ways that enhance storytelling, improve production efficiency, and support creative decision-making.
