THIS EVENT IS FREE TO ATTEND

Opening 23 November 2025 at The Roundhouse in Camden, is Party People: Figures on the Dancefloor, an important photography and painting exhibition which celebrates the UK’s vibrant club culture and nightlife.

The exhibition brings together 18 contributing artists, each capturing distinct musical genres from afrobeat sets to Northern Soul, LGBTQ+ spaces to D&B squat raves. The show presents the diverse musical communities that continue to pulse on dancefloors across the UK.

Party People arrives at a crucial cultural moment. Since the pandemic’s end in 2022, nightlife has struggled to fully recover – venues have to subscribe to more stringent licensing rules, crowds remain a source of anxiety for many, and prices have soared, making some of the spaces we used to let loose and find release in prohibitively expensive. This exhibition brings the creative communities who remain on the dancefloor and who have defied these struggles into focus.

The exhibition represents more than documentation – it’s an act of preservation and celebration of Britain’s most dynamic creative communities. Party People asserts the vital importance of these spaces for artistic expression, community building, and cultural identity.

The photographers and visual artists have become archivers of our contemporary music culture, expressing the spirit and energy that defines each scene.
