Drama Club

Ages 11-14

Roundhouse Studios

Love acting? Got a big imagination? Ready to jump into something creative and fun?

If you’ve ever wanted to invent characters, create stories, perform scenes, or just try something new – Roundhouse Drama Club is the place to do it.

Across 10 weeks, you’ll explore the world of theatre through improvisation, role-play, games and storytelling. With no auditions or pressure to be “perfect,” this is your chance to learn by playing alongside other young people who love being creative just as much as you do.

Together, you’ll build confidence, sharpen your performance skills, and help create an original short piece of theatre to share at the end of term (if you want to!). Whether you’re acting, writing, directing or helping shape the scenes, every role is important and everyone is welcome.

The Drama Club is now a full-term programme, not a drop-in. That means the same group gets to build trust, try new things together, and grow stronger as a team week by week.

What you’ll do:

  • Have fun, meet like-minded young people and get creative
  • Invent characters, create stories and build scenes
  • Try  out improvisation, devising and script writing
  • Learn how to work together and share ideas as a team
  • Boost your confidence through rehearsals and performance.
  • Take part in a short end-of-term sharing for family and friends (optional but exciting!)

Who is teaching the project?

This project will be led by two experienced theatre practitioners.

Do I need any particular skills or experience to take part?

No, this is for all levels and experience. Beginners are welcome, as are those who attended previous terms.

How to join?

Book your place using the enrol button on this page. Spaces are limited so book now to avoid disappointment.

I’M NOT SURE I CAN AFFORD TO TAKE PART…

If you need help to pay for things like project fees, transport or childcare, we can help. Find out how you can get support. If you are using a bursary to pay for the project, please ensure you arrange this with the Advice Base with plenty of time before the start of the project.

I HAVE ADDITIONAL NEEDS. WHAT SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE?

We are committed to supporting D/deaf, disabled and neurodiverse young people, those with medical conditions, access requirements or any lived experience that may require adaptation, support or sensitivity. If there is anything you would like to let us (our youth workers, tutors or staff) know that will support your enjoyment and access, you can do so by emailing us at advicebase@roundhouse.org.uk, and we will contact you to discuss further how to best support your engagement.
