Roundhouse Comedy Festival and Berk's Nest present
with special guest Diane Morgan
The Alexei Sayle Podcast crashes onto the Roundhouse stage for a freewheeling conversation with co-host Talal Karkouti and special guest – Diane Morgan!
Expect the unexpected – the show is completely unplanned, we’ll be taking questions from the audience and things tend to get a bit more exciting in front of a crowd. As a Camden resident for many years, Alexei is chuffed to be bringing his podcast home at last!
Alexei Sayle is a comedian, writer, actor and presenter. In 1979 he became the first MC of the original Comedy Store in Soho and went on to be a central figure in the Alternative Comedy movement of the early 1980s. On TV he starred in and wrote for The Young Ones, Alexei Sayle’s Stuff and The Comic Strip Presents. On radio Alexei Sayle’s Imaginary Sandwich Bar as well as being a great success has brought a fresh, younger audience to Radio 4 and the next series will be the sixth. He has written many books including two best selling volumes of memoir and in 2025 his Tik Tok videos which fuse interpretive dance with Marxism went viral and are now approaching thirteen million views worldwide.
Diane Morgan is a multi-BAFTA nominated actor, writer and director, best known for her incarnation of professional dim-wit Philomenia Cunk. She has just been seen on season 2 of Last One Laughing, and has recently wrapped filming her new BBC comedy Ann Droid.
Talal Karkouti grew up performing voiceover jobs and musicals. Not much has changed. Musical Comedy Awards runner up (2nd place!), improv comedy veteran and podcaster, Talal is proud to co-host and produce The Alexei Sayle Podcast. He has performed at The Royal Festival Hall, Hammersmith Eventim Apollo, Glastonbury Festival, Manchester Apollo, and he can’t wait to perform for the first time at The Roundhouse
