Ezra England is a trans non-binary writer and actor from Somerset; their debut play Nuclear Children won the 2021 Platform Presents Playwriting Prize and premiered at Roundhouse’s Last Word Festival in 2023 before completing a run at Edinburgh Fringe the same year. They’re currently working on a new play exploring the complexities of AI and enjoy celebrating dark humour within their work.

NIA is a Birmingham born, London based singer, songwriter and producer intertwining a soothing vocal with elements of spoken word. Nia offers a a blend of journalistic storytelling and soothing melodies in a fusion of jazz, neo-soul and hip-hop.

After releasing her debut EP ‘41n’ in 2022, NIA has been cementing her reputation across the London jazz scene as one to watch. 

This has included playing at renowned venues such as Ronnie Scott’s & Woolwich Works, performing alongside the likes of the Sugar Hill Gang & Bel Cobain along with hosting a monthly radio show on Peckham based platform – Balamii.

Geo Aghinea (b. 2001, Romania) is a London-based producer, composer and vocalist who sonically reflects their experience as a deaf musician hearing through artificial mechanisms. Geo creates distinct auditory encounters blending bold synthetic sonic organisms with ethereal vocals. This approach to sound creation is a consequence of wearing hearing aids from a young age, which has shaped both their vocal expression and perception of the surrounding world of sound.

Their creative practice implements a multitude of feelings or stages of feelings, in an effort to form a richer soundscape that reflects how they experience emotions as a human. This need to transcend the limitation of conventional, single-mood structures is evident in their avant-garde EP titled ‘I’ll Hand You A Hand’ released last year, featuring 5 self-produced and written tracks.

Standing at the intersection of art and music, Geo has performed both at renowned music venues including Servant Jazz Quarters, LSO St Lukes, The Baths and Control Club and in art galleries such as The Crypt Gallery, Brooke Bennington and Final Hot Desert.

Likewise, Geo’s music has been broadcast on Radio Romania Cultural and Soho Radio, where they were invited to perform and interview with Max Reinhardt. Notably, Geo is recognised as one of the 2023 Oram Awards winners for innovation in sound, music & related technologies, was shortlisted for Sound Of The Year Awards ‘Composed With Sound’ category and featured as one of Mastercard’s music trailblazers x The BRIT Awards this year, as part of the Future Sound of Britain campaign.

Wisdom Charis is a writer and actress currently based in London but originally hailing from just outside Hull, with a passion for character driven work and stories that combine the funny with the sad, exploring different facets of day to day humanity.

Wisdom has previously been a chosen member of the BFI Screenwriting Residential as well as RADA and Stratford East’s young actor cohorts and RADA, Guildhall and Theatre Peckham’s Originate cohort. Wisdom has interned for writers like Miriam Battye (Succession) and in 2020 she was named by Elle Magazine as one of the ‘Names and Faces of Tomorrow’.

Alongside being a Roundhouse Resident artist, Wisdom is also currently developing new writing with the Royal Court Theatre.

Born in London to Congolese parents, Marla Kether is a bassist, producer and DJ. Exceeding 35 million Spotify streams as a session bassist for the likes of Yazmin Lacey, Oscar Jerome and Obongjayar, Marla released her highly-anticipated debut EP ‘All That We Have’ in November, preceded by four singles championed by the likes of Crack Magazine, Mary Anne Hobbs, Jamz Supernova, Shanti Celeste, Gilles Peterson and many more.

It’s safe to say her musical career is as diverse as her influences: her music features a unique blend of live Latin percussion, Theo Parrish-style groove, and driving basslines and guitar riffs inspired by her West African heritage. The EP was heralded by Bandcamp Daily as some of ‘The Best Electronic Music of November 2023’, and the closing track ‘BTR2’ is one of DJ Mag’s Top Tracks of 2023.

Marla celebrated the launch of the EP with two packed-out live shows in November, at Strange Brew in Bristol and NinetyOne Living Room in London. These came after a year of touring the world as Loyle Carner’s bassist – and even supporting his US tour as a DJ. 2024 has seen Marla play the closing set at Jazz Stroud and support BCUC at The Jazz Cafe, as well as securing bookings at Shambala and Valley Festival.

Zakariye is a poet, performer and filmmaker from Birmingham. Through his narrative poetic style, his work often explores masculinity, faith and identity. His short poetry film ‘Cages’ was broadcast on BBC 4 and BBC iPlayer in 2022 and 2023 saw him win the audience vote at the Roundhouse Poetry Slam final.

Holden is an artist/producer from Cheshire. After moving to London in 2019, he has cultivated his own musical style that seamlessly blends spoken word and sung melodies, with intricate musical textures and interesting production. After graduating from Goldsmiths University in 2022, Holden began performing at venues around London with his band, performing at venues such as Moth Club, The Finsbury and Paper Dress Vintage. 

Holden released his debut single ‘My Friend’ via streaming in 2023, a bold and innovative track that features soft, sensitive vocals with contrasting brash and experimental drum breaks. Holden is currently working towards releasing his debut EP ‘Non/Fiction’, a project centered around storytelling from both personal experiences and fictional ideas, with musical influences ranging from free jazz, psychedelia, folk and punk.

POSER is an innovative electronic music producer originally from Wicklow, Ireland. Now based in London, he has been passionately involved in the music scene since 2017, initially making his mark as a DJ across Dublin and Ireland’s vibrant club circuit. 

In June 2022, POSER released his debut track, “Je T’aime,” which garnered significant attention, including airplay on BBC Radio 1 by Jaguar and a live set during her b2b performance with Peggy Gou. This initial success paved the way for a series of singles, culminating in his standout release, “Yours,” a collaboration with fellow Irish artist Blimp. The track achieved widespread recognition, receiving airplay on major stations like BBC Radio 1, RTE 2FM, Spin 103.8, and Today FM, and amassing over 300,000 streams across all platforms.

His debut solo EP, “For Those Before,” showcases his unique approach to music production, blending his love for hip-hop and sampling with energetic house beats. The EP, an homage to the art of sampling, features flipped samples from renowned artists such as Action Bronson, Jay Z, Lil Wayne, and Loyle Carner. It received acclaim, featuring on Spotify playlists like UK House Music, Irish Dance, and A Breath of Fresh Eire, along with radio play on BBC Radio 1 and RTE 2FM. Esteemed artists like Jasper Tygner, Barry Can’t Swim, and SHEE have also shown support.

Jaz Lee is a London-based multi-instrumentalist and composer. Having established himself as a member of Balimaya Project and performed with the likes of Wizkid, Celeste, Tom Misch and Olivia Dean, Jaz is now preparing to launch his solo practice with debut material in 2024. 

His sound embodies the rich culture of the London jazz scene, drawing inspiration from the people, experiences and vibrations that surround him in life, the studio and on stage.

Daze Hingorani is a queer choreographer and poet, born and raised in London. Currently working in association with the Roundhouse and Sadler’s Wells, they’ve performed from Dalston Superstore to Riverside Studios. Obsessed with nostalgia and grief and otherhood and being seen and being lonely, Daze swims around in senses of self to speak to what we all already know.

Maureen Onwunali is a Dublin-born Nigerian published poet and a two-time national slam champion. She is currently a Resident Artist at the Roundhouse. Her work has been commissioned, sampled, and featured by various musicians, radio shows, and organisations including Pearson, Penguin, BBC Radio London, and the Poetry Society.

In 2021, Maureen made history by winning both the audience and judges vote at the Roundhouse Poetry Slam, in addition to partaking in the BBC’s Words First development scheme and performing as a finalist at the BBC Radio 1Xtra Contains Strong Language Festival that same year.

Her debut collection, Homegrown, was published by Fem Press in the summer of 2023. She has since contributed poetry to the 2023 BFI London Film Festival award-winning short film, The Archive: Queer Nigerians, by Simisolaoluwa Akande.

Away from the stage, Maureen is a workshop facilitator, guest speaker, and creative director of black [untitled], a student-led collective for creatives on campus. She often visits and performs at schools across the country on a mission to reform what she calls, poetry’s “bad rep” within the current curriculum.

In 2024, Maureen again made history by leading team Warwick, her university’s first Unislam team, to victory, placing first in the national university poetry slam competition.

Kate Ireland is a writer, performer and community engaged artist from Glasgow. She has been part of the Traverse Young Writers, the BBC Words first Mentoring Scheme and was featured as an emerging writer by the Edinburgh International Festival.

Kate makes up a quarter of the female led performance art group Collectivebreak and is the founder and creative director of Blether, an arts collective based in Manchester that run monthly cabaret nights and workshops exploring a playful, joyful and community focused approach to performance and storytelling.

As a community engaged artist Kate has worked with prisoners, care-experienced young people, refugees, adults experiencing mental ill-health and children with additional support needs. Kate’s work is firmly rooted in care-driven acts of collectivity and connection.

Noah Jacob is an Arab-British poet, performer and critic based in London. Her writing often explores boundaries between human and unhuman, interrogating the poetry within biology, automaton and nature, particularly the ocean.

She is an alum of the Roundhouse Poetry Collective 2021/22, having placed second in the Roundhouse Poetry Slam 2021. She is an editor and co-writes a column on diaspora poetry for Zindabad Zine. She is also an alum of Apples and Snakes ‘The Writing Room’ and T.S. Eliot Prize Young Critics. Her work has been published by Shubbak , Camden Inspire and Peckham Festivals, as well as orangepeel, Hecate, and Kalopsia mags.

Tife Kusoro is a Nigerian-British writer and performer. Her creative practice is focused on creating work for theatre, poetry and screen. She was a member of the Roundhouse Poetry Collective and trained as an actor with the National Youth Theatre Rep company. Her work often explores themes of coming of age, Black girlhood and diasporic identity. Her poem ‘the only other dark skinned girl’ won second prize in the 2022 National Poetry Competition.

Jessica Fatoye is a writer, aspiring director, and poet. She is an alumna of the first cohort of the Almeida Theatre Young Creatives, having written the book for a short musical which was performed in May 2023.

She has previously been commissioned by the Museum of Oxford as part of their ‘Stories from the Spires’ series. She has published work in Onyx Magazine and Phi Magazine, as well as working as a Poetry and Fiction editor for Onyx Magazine, 2020-2021.

Amy (pronounced AH-MI) Gadiaga is bassist,vocalist and composer and dancer from Paris based in London. She graduated from Trinity Labans Conservatoire of music and Dance where she studied double bass and won several distinctions including a prize from the Royal Philharmonic Society and nominated this year for Jazz new comer of the year by the Parliamentary Jazz awards.

Connecting the old school jazz tradition of musicians such as Betty Carter or Wayne Shorter with her own style, Amy offers performances that celebrates artistry and freedom.

Faker Villain is a gathering of three genre-bending instrumental experimentalists, coming together as friends, to tell stories through music. Individually, they are Faye Thompson on saxophone and bass clarinet, Kavi Maraj on bass guitar, and Dillon Harrison on drums and percussion.

The trio’s music emerges from a unique approach to collaboration that is spontaneous, yet thoughtful, allowing them to unleash an untethered, musical energy that binds them together. The result is an exceptionally original performance that utterly captivates the heart, soul, and body of listeners. Inspiration is drawn from pasts and presents to create something entirely new and mystical, transporting listeners through the fantastical soundscapes of Electronica, Jazz, Hindustani Classical, Ambient Experimental, Progressive Metal, and many other far-flung worlds.

Gigi Williams is a musician and presenter from London. Her music is a blend of soul, singer-songwriter and guitar lead instrumentals. She’s played festivals such as Wild Paths, El Dorado and Kite Festival. In 2023 she will be releasing her 2nd EP ‘Big Picture’, with her debut single ‘Foolish Lady’ having already been played on BBC Radio.

Born and raised in North London, Hohnen Ford grew up immersed in London’s vibrant Jazz scene, becoming fixated on instrumental jazz music of the 20th Century and later studying Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music.

Since graduating, Hohnen has been developing a unique and timeless approach to songwriting drawing on influences from the Great American songbook to classic songwriters and artists such as Joni Mitchell and Randy Newman.

Whilst writing and recording her debut release, Hohnen Ford cultivated a devoted online audience through performances at her piano, live-streamed from her home to millions each week.

Taking confidence from these performances she set about creating her first release, a combination of self-written songs and collaborations with the likes of Matt Maltese, creating a collection of intimate songs recorded at home, on the very same piano they were written on.

Her debut EP “Infinity” was released in October ’22. Between tours and writing collaborations, she has toured Europe supporting Matt Maltese and the UK supporting Etta Marcus and was named ‘One to watch’ by sofar sounds for 2023.

Nurtured transatlantic, Tendertwin is a forager for half-lived stories. Born in Istanbul, Tendertwin’s distinctive voice soaks up Turkey’s rich musical heritage from the lapping tides of the Black Sea and Mediterranean, and filters it through drifting time spent in Philadelphia and London — a familiar folk sound with an industrial glitch where landscapes are entangled in ambient sounds, wrong-footing melodies and unpredictable arrangements carrying subtle illusions of Linda Perhacs and Regina Spektor.

Plastik follows Tendertwin’s former singles, Absolute Nobody and Triangles, which put her on the radar of international press (La Blogothèque, WXPN, Secret Meeting, UPROXX), and esteemed playlist features (New Music Friday, EQUAL, Discover Weekly, Release Radar, Fresh Finds).

Tendertwin’s latest involvements include a live Take Away Show and a Stay Away Show with La Blogothèque; live performances at Oxford and London; Rear Window, a track in collaboration with PAWS member Phillip Jon Taylor; and multiple radio features on BBC Introducing and BBC Scotland in anticipation of the release of her EP.

London-based singer and songwriter, Naima Adams, delivers soaring vocals that bristle with energy and honesty, that groove with the best funk and have deep soul roots.

From an Italian-American background, she moved to London to pursue music and, thus far, her career has seen her share the stage with musicians from India, Brazil, Colombia, the Faroe Islands as part of the Roundhouse Music Collective and perform alongside the likes of Sampa The Great, Comet Is Coming, Nubya Garcia, and Celeste, as well as performing at a number of festivals including We Out Here Festival, Love Supreme and Glastonbury’s Park Stage, and appearing on radio & TV programmes such as Jools Holland and The Annie Mac Show.

She recently took part in Abram Wilson Foundation’s career development programme and released two tracks with her community project, Scrapbook Mixtape.
