This Saturday (15 November), trailblazing South African music duo Major League DJz will give a major leg up to three young DJs as part of an exciting collaboration with the Roundhouse youth programme.

As part of their headline gig at the iconic venue, Major League DJz and promoter Labyrinth Events have offered three talented young musicians the life-changing opportunity to join the line-up.

DJs ETP, J GADGET and Nésa Thea will get the gig going with warm up sets in the venue’s Studio Theatre, ahead of Major League DJz’s highly-anticipated set on the Main Stage. The young DJs were selected from an open call to members of the Roundhouse Creative Studios, where musicians, filmmakers, podcasters and performers aged 13-25 can hire studio space for as little as £1 an hour.

The Creative Studios are part of Roundhouse’s sector-leading youth programme, which engages with 11,000 young people each year through affordable opportunities in music, media, performing arts, poetry and professional development.

Known for their infectious energy and genre-defying sound, Major League DJz have become a global phenomenon, setting dancefloors alight wherever they go. Their Roundhouse gig on Saturday night promises to be an electrifying showcase of the talent and creativity that have made them one of the most sought-after DJ acts in the world.

This partnership follows a similar collaboration in April, when acclaimed producer, DJ and BBC 6 Music host SHERELLE invited four young Roundhouse DJs to perform at her Roundhouse gig.

Marcus Davey, CEO and Artistic Director of the Roundhouse, said: “Collaborations such as this are what makes the Roundhouse so special. We’re not only a multi-arts venue, but a youth charity giving young people opportunities to explore their creative potential and providing tangible industry opportunities for young people starting their creative careers. It’s always hugely exciting when established artists like Major League DJz get behind our mission to open doors for the next generation of talent.”

DJ ETP said: “I got involved in the Roundhouse through a friend, who invited me here when I expressed an interest in learning how to DJ. This opportunity is an incredibly affirming reminder that through diligence and consistency I can close the gap between my taste and skill levels. I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity.”

DJ Nésa Thea said: “I came across the Roundhouse Creative Studios when I was looking for somewhere to practice during the early days of my DJ journey. It quickly became a creative home — a space where I could learn, grow and connect with other artists.

“Opening for Major League Djz is huge! One of the biggest names pushing South African sounds worldwide, it feels surreal. As someone who plays those genres, it’s a big moment to represent and celebrate the sound that inspires me. I’m honestly excited to play at the Roundhouse. It’s such an iconic venue, and to bring my sound to that stage is something I’ve dreamed of for a long time.”
