British Latinx writers are the fierce new literature movement you may not have heard of…yet. This night will change that.
Bringing all the passion and magic of Latin American writing – with a distinctly British flavour – join us as we present five brilliant new books from prize winning writers in poetry and fiction.
Including Peruvian British Karina Likorish Quinn’s ‘The Dust Never Settles’ (One World), described as a new Isabel Allende, as well as prize-winning British Argentinian queer poet Leo Boix, whose collection ‘Ballad of a Happy Immigrant’ (Chatto) is a unique & moving exploration of migration and loss that has received international acclaim.
The brilliant Andres Nicolas Ordorico, Maia Elsner and Juana Adcock will also be reading from their exciting new books. We’ll be getting to know our US Latinx friends with strong ties to the UK novelist Monica Parle, poets Yvette Siegert, Janel Pineda and Antonio Lopez and viewing a short film from Carlos Andres Gomez. The night will also welcome Merky award-winning poet, Monika Radojevic. It’s going to be a night to remember. Vamos a celebrar!
