Following a nationwide callout, this exceptional and dynamic group of young singers dedicated themselves to rehearsals and workshops at the Roundhouse which culminated in a live performance on stage with Dave Okumu. Take a look at rehearsals below.
Our Head of Music, Lucy Wood sums up her thoughts on In The Round Festival.
“This year’s In The Round Festival had so many highlights; tradition meets the future in Sona Jobarteh and her son Sidiki; Cam who will be the next Dolly Parton in terms of songs, warmth and wit; Laura Veirs‘ supergroup folk band; the once in a lifetime level of artistry and energy in Dave Okumu‘s set with our very own Vocal Ensemble! And I’m definitely wondering how Rodrigo y Gabriela deftly manage a full 90 minutes of hardcore guitar shredding.”
