Want to learn how to produce great radio?

Our award-winning audio platform Transmission Roundhouse is offering emerging radio creatives the chance to take-part in a series of workshops that will provide the skills needed to enter the world of professional radio production. In addition to learning practical production and presenting techniques from experienced tutors, you’ll also get career development support and access to the industry.

Participants will spend five days at the Roundhouse on a bootcamp learning how to plan, produce and present a radio show from industry professionals. Various aspects of radio production will be covered, including the history of radio, writing and presenting, interviewing, broadcast law and music curation. At the end of the week, creatives will get the exciting opportunity to record a radio showreel or a mini-programme to take with them.

The Roundhouse is a place for everyone, and we don’t want money to hold anyone back from getting involved, so if there’s anything that could stop you from attending projects or events that could be helped by financial support – including help with project costs, transport and childcare – then let us know. We are also able to arrange for in person workshops to be streamed for those who are not based in or near London.

The workshops will cover:

  • An introduction to radio as a profession, including a brief history of the medium
  • Studio operation
  • Presenting and writing for radio
  • Choosing the music for your show
  • Interviewing on the radio
  • Broadcasting law

All participants will be given access to the Transmission Roundhouse Studios as well as support from the platform’s production team.
