Are you interested in what goes on behind the scenes of shows? Want to discover more about the people backstage and off-stage who make a performance all come together? Over 2 days, Roundhouse will give you access to our exciting summer productions, Barber Shop Chronicles and Hive City Legacy, through backstage tours and workshops with creatives from the shows from sound design and stage management, to technical operating and directing.
For those aged 12+, you will have the opportunity to watch Barber Shop Chronicles on Tuesday 30th July 8-10pm, permission slips will be emailed and posted to parents/guardians before the project, you will need to bring these on the first day to watch the show. Dinner will be provided.
What will I get from taking part?
• Have a better understanding of the different off-stage and backstage roles in theatre and how they each contribute to a final production
• Develop basic skills in various areas of theatre from set design to stage management to directing
• An opportunity to watch a Roundhouse show
• Take a guided backstage tour of Roundhouse and go behind the scenes of current productions
• Find out about the different pathways to these roles and any useful courses, traineeships, apprenticeships and schemes for the craft you’re interested in.

Professionals from Barber Shop Chronicles, Hive City Legacy plus more.
Do I need any particular skills or experience to take part?
No experience necessary.
Is there anything I need to bring or wear?
Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a packed lunch with you on both days. If you would like to attend the show on Tuesday, please bring your permission slip, dinner will be provided in between the workshop and show.
How do I pay for this project?
You can pay for your place with a debit or credit card when you book online. If you don’t have a card you can pay by visiting us in person or by calling us on 0300 6789 222 (option 4). We are open Tue – Fri 9.30am – 9pm and Sat – Mon 9.30am – 5pm.
