Roundhouse’s very own training programme for emerging circus artists and street dancers with great performance opportunities.
What will I get from taking part?
As part of the collective you will:
- Improve your skill level in street dance and acrobatics
- Have the opportunity to learn specialist skills including cyr wheel, trick bike, tumbling, hula hoop and skating
- Get to create your own show with a professional circus director and perform at high profile events including CircusFest 2016
- Have access to other incredible performance opportunities. (Past Street Circus Collectives have performed with Zoonation Youth Company directed by Arlene Philips, Circusstad Festival in Rotterdam and the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Who will be teaching the project?
Course mentor: Clare Anderson
Dance Artist-Tutor: Xavi Monreal
Acrobatics Artist-Tutor: Adrian Porter
You will also work with other specialists from the professional circus and dance industries.
Do I need any particular skills or experience to take part?
You need to be at intermediate to advanced level in street dance and/or acrobatics and/or another circus skill. Participants must commit to training in both dance and acrobatics. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more info or chat about what level you need to be at.
Is there anything I need to bring or wear?
Clothes comfortable for movement.
