Come with us as we create poetry about ourselves and the places we live – in any language.
This poetry writing workshop, led by Arji Manuelpillai, is a chance for everyone whether they are new to poetry or a lifelong fan to share a supportive creative online space. It celebrates and explores the diversity of language and you’ll be encouraged to write in the language(s) you feel most comfortable working in. We particularly welcome multi-lingual participants and those with English as a second language although this is not a requirement to take part.
Arji Manuelpillai is a poet, performer and creative facilitator. He is the 2019/20 Jerwood/Arvon Mentee. His poetry has been shortlisted for the BAME Burning Eye pamphlet prize 2018, The Oxford Prize 2019, Wolves Poetry Prize 2020, National Poetry Prize 2021 and The Live Canon Prize 2020, he was runner-up in the Robert Graves Prize 2020.
