Presented by singer, writer and sonic poet, DemiMa this immersive live series is an evening of conversation, sound selection and food, honouring London’s Diaspora and the depths of cultural identity through the lens of the artist.
This season’s episode will be a panel discussion celebrating womxn in the music industry who continue to reshape roles within the field. DemiMa will host 3 special guests exploring Lineage, Legacy and taking up space.
Born and raised in South London, Jamz Supernova is a Label owner to Future Bounce, BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ and host to the podcast DIY Handbook. Moving fluidly between dancehall and kuduro riddims like kuduro to UK funky and radio-friendly electronic souls, Jamz Supernova leads with a passion for her craft and is currently spearheading the next generation of radio DJs.
Emmavie is a singer/songwriter and producer, specialising in what she describes as “limitless soulful future R&B”. Her music is an amalgamation of 90s R&B and her love for digital audio experimentation. Having shared the stage and collaborated with artists such as Mahalia, Smino, Kojey Radical, Alfa Mist and Eric Bellinger, Emmavie is also one of the most recognised music producers in the UK.
Soulful, ethereal and enchanting to boot, Annabel (aka Black Cactus) is an artist, songwriter and performer with a rich and deep tone. She has gone on to perform on some of the world’s biggest stages, including the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the Graham Norton Show and The Brit Awards.
