British Book follows the journey of two siblings navigating their experiences of the UK immigration system. Told through spoken-word poetry with live drums, the show explores how migrants deal with the lengthy and uncertain process of applying for citizenship, cultural assimilation, belonging and family separation.

Kirk-Ann is joined by Shakira Stellar on drums and Estella Adeyeri on bass guitar. Shakira Stellar is a London based drummer, poet, composer and producer. Shakira was a Roundhouse Resident Artist in 2018/19, drumming in the band SILVA. Estella Adeyeri is a performing musician and multi-instrumentalist. She plays bass guitar in Black feminist punk band Big Joanie, and lead guitar in anarcho-pop punk outfit Charmpit. Music composed by Shakira Stellar and Estella Adeyeri.
