Part of The Last Word, a festival where words come alive.

What happens when the circus artist speaks?

From existential thoughts to surreal observations, autobiographical experiences to fabricated narratives, Utter Circus asks how text be used to compliment, contradict or subvert circus disciplines to shift the relationship between performer and audience.

The show will consist of three short performances integrating circus and text by Roundhouse Resident Artists, and a provocation exploring the use of text in contemporary circus practice hosted by Mish Weaver (Artistic Director, Stumble danceCircus).

Things I Know About You by Sarah April Lamb and Alex Aina
A performance exploring how we lie, and plays with what we can convince each other and the audience of with our bodies and words.

Ripe by Tilly Lee-Kronick
Using technical static trapeze, contemporary dance and original text, Ripe is a surreal exploration of our attitudes and assumptions towards female performers.

Ravers Fantasy by Symoné
Immersing audiences in a psychdelic-esque disco, Symoné recreates her personal experience in a cult into a relatable multi-sensory circus show inspired by the American rave and voguing culture.
