2018/19 Roundhouse Resident Artists Asthmatic Harp, Celine Love, Kid Jupiter, Shakira Alleyne and Sophie Kilburn mark the end of their residencies with a co-headline gig as part of our Rising Presents series.
Asthmatic Harp produces alternative pop with folk influences. Her music combines evocative vocals and artfully crafted lyrics set in an imaginative universe of string and clarinet arrangements, sampled toy pianos and acoustic guitar.
Celine Love is a singer songwriter with a guitar in her hand and heart in her voice. A fusion of folk, soul and pop accompany the personal stories she tells.
Kid Jupiter are five London indie-poppers meandering through melody and modes of masculinity. Fronted by Laurence Morgan, with a musical background highlighted by choral singing, traditional folk tunes and classical composition, what emerges is a mixture of dense, euphoric harmonies and occasionally unorthodox pop song structures.
Shakira Alleyne is a songwriter and musician from North London. She takes inspiration from life experiences and observations using her love for writing to create honest and relatable music.
Sophie Kilburn is a singer-songwriter who strips music and life back to its emotional core.
