Urban Development are a music development organisation dedicated to the growth of urban music in Britain and they’re teaming up with leading youth lifestyle platform Complex UK to bring together key players in the business to delve into the past, present and future of grime. The day will also offer the opportunity to play your music to A&R professionals from top labels including Universal Music UK, Polydor and XL Recordings.
The day will culminate in a live music showcase illustrating the full spectrum of grime music with performances from afrobeat artist and MOBO nominee Mista Silva, acclaimed rapper Kaniva, Roundhouse Resident Artist neo, soul/R&B singer Estée Blu, plus sets from the influential DJs P Montana and DJ Funkz.

Once again Urban Development collaborates with leading youth lifestyle platform, to explore the UK’s biggest urban cultural export. The panel will be chaired by journalist Hyperfrank, with contributions from Senior Complex UK Editor Joseph ‘JP’ Patterson, legendary grime documenter and video director Rooney (Risky Roadz), Eskimo Dance Brand Manager Leila ‘Lilz’Singh, plus a very special guest to be announced. The panel will analyse the past, present and future of grime, chart its rise to dominance and the impact of independent releasing and social media.
