The studios are reopening but with some important changes in place to ensure it’s safe for you and for Roundhouse staff to return. Please read these carefully before you book.

How to book

Book online

  • You can now book online or at the studios – pay on online here or on arrival we can take card or cash payments
  • You will be able to book up to 4 weeks ahead and bookings can take place upto the hour of the booking.
    Any request for equipment would need to be confirmed before your booking, if you arrive on the day with a request you will need to wait outside the studios as the tech team set up and this may affect your time slot.

To give everyone a fair chance, the following restrictions are in place:

  • Daily bookings limit: 2
  • Weekly booking limit: 2 days per week
  • Overall limit: 4 individual slots per week

We are not able to run a waiting list at this time. Spaces may become available again if other members cancel.

Request equipment in advance

  • You must request the equipment you want to use from the tech store before you arrive on site for your booking. If you are not sure what equipment you need, please contact RHSTech@roundhouse.org.uk

  • Your equipment will be set up and waiting for you in the room when you arrive.
  • You will need to book your tech equipment at least 1 day before. Please note, you won’t be able to request anything additional on the day.
Opening Times

The studio spaces can be booked during the following hours:

Saturday and Sunday – 11:30 – 14:30 and 15:00-18:00
Monday and Tuesday – 14:30 – 17:30 and 18:00-21:00

What’s available

Rooms will be available on an alternating basis, so that we can clean them in between bookings. You will still be able to access the DJ rooms, practice rooms and midi suites. The Clore and Bloomberg will be available for solo rehearsal or as midi suites. See Book a Room for details on these spaces.

If you would like to bring your own equipment with you, we require that it has undergone a Portable Appliance Test. More information on this is provided in the equipment booking form.

Room Capacities

You are allowed 1 guest per smaller studio space, and for the larger studio spaces, you are allowed 5 guests plus you (6 total)

What to expect when you arrive
  • You will be greeted at the outside door to the studios reception, where a member of staff will scan your digital ticket on your phone and you will be able to collect your door pass
  • Hand sanitiser will be available to use before you enter the studios and when you leave
During your booking
  • During your booking you’ll be able to ask for help from the tech team by messaging them on WhatsApp. The number can be read from a notice in the room you have booked. If they need to come to your room, vacate the room while they go in.
  • If you need to pop out or use the loo at any point during your booking, please use the one-way system in place. Only two people can use the toilets at a time and they can use either the men’s or women’s toilets
  • Please note, the café is currently closed.
At the end of the session

Don’t pack anything away, please leave everything set up and simply return your room pass to security. We’ll sort the rest!

Who can book the studios?

For the time being, we’re only able to offer bookings to people who have an existing Emerging Artist Membership. However, everyone who had a valid, activated membership on 16th March 2020 will automatically have their membership extended by 2 years from the original expiry date.

Unfortunately, if you’ve already turned 27 your membership won’t be extended.

Opening times

In order to give us time to schedule room cleaning and equipment sanitising, we have a new timetable. All studios spaces are available to book for the following fixed 3 hour slots:
Saturday and Sunday – 11:30 – 14:30 and 15:00-18:00
Monday and Tuesday – 14:30 – 17:30 and 18:00-21:00

Please note, we are closed Wednesday to Friday.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

To get a full refund members must cancel with at least 2 days notice (so that it’s possible for the space to be rebooked by someone else)

If you need to cancel with less than 2 days notice, these are the consequences:

  • If cancellation is covid related due to isolation – no charge but account freeze for 2 weeks
  • If not COVID related no refund processed
  • Multiple late cancellations (less than 2 days notice) 3 or more times = 4 weeks freeze
