On 11 July, 40 people, stretching from Devon, to South London, East London, West London, Oxfordshire, Nottingham, Surrey, Norfolk, Manchester, Wales and Scotland, to as far afield as Norway and the USA, took part in our Round The Houses challenge.
The task? To walk 36 miles in one day in aid of our work with young people. These vital funds will support our ongoing commitment to providing support and creativity through these challenging times. Round Your House – provides pastoral support via telephone and email, access to creative software, roundtables for artists and young people and lots of online activity. You can find out more about this work here and how you can still support us.
In total, our walkers have helped us to raise a total of £253,000 in funds, including offline donations.
Marcus Davey, our CEO and Artistic Director shares his experience:
It felt a privilege to be walking for such an important cause. Every donation has helped to bring a shard of dazzling light in to the lives of the young people we work with, especially in these dark times. Solly and I can’t thank all our donors and our wonderful team of supporters enough for all their immense kindness and generosity.
‘Solly and I probably didn’t prepare enough, probably didn’t eat enough the night before, we probably could have measured our route better… but… we set off before 6am and charged through the stunning meandering Norfolk countryside during which we were joined by friends and family. Highlights included a sensational homemade BLT at West Runton, the view of Cromer Pier and the smell of pea fields. At the end we were welcomed by friends with fresh lemon drizzle cake and ice cold beer. The last three miles will hopefully be forgotten soon, the many blisters will disappear and we are already talking about what to do next year. Now where are those blister plasters…’
We’d like to extend a massive thank you to all our walkers, supporters and donors so far for helping us carry on our work with young people.
You can still support us
