Crazy, emotional and amazing
OnTrack is a music production, DJ and performance project for 16-25 year old artists who are not currently in education, employment or training.
Participants learn new skills, work with industry professionals and create original music together before being supported into further opportunities in the creative industries.
The 6 week project consists of masterclasses in music production, DJ-ing and performance with guest speakers from Universal, Grime Daily, Ghetts, Charlie Sloth and Amplify Dot, as well as the opportunity to achieve an Arts Award qualification.
The end of the 2014 OnTrack project saw all participants perform the original music they’d created at a sold out gig in the Roundhouse’s Studio Theatre. Across the 6 weeks they’d found their own collective identity – ‘Black on Black’ and performed a range of different genres under this banner, including Hip Hop, Dubstep, Reggae, R&B, House and even a bit spoken word. It was an incredible night full of talent, creativity and vibes, headlined by Ghetts who performed from his debut album ‘Rebel with A Cause’.
As you’ll see from the documentary, OnTrack 2014 was a real success with the participants leaving the program with a real sense of achievement, confidence and drive to push their music career to the next level. Big up everyone who was involved in this magical project – all the Tutor Team, the Roundhouse Staff, Guest Speakers, Funders, Audience and of course the Young People.
