A night of new musical pioneers featuring Beaty Heart with the Roundhouse Choir, CLOUT!, Sarah Leo and Waylayers, an evening of immense new music, and a night not to be missed.
Beaty Heart recently released their debut EP Slush Puppy/Cola, the result of several months in the studio honing their ‘psychedelic drum pop’. Percussion makes up Beaty Heart’s core sound; each member of the band plays drums simultaneously to create their distinctive sound, paying homage to afro beat, dub and soul along the way. They recently performed a special show at the Roundhouse as part of Ron Arad’s Curtain Call, we as well as supporting The Rapture on their UK tour. Beaty Heart stand out as a constantly evolving project, a fluid entity that is ripe for discovery.
Formed in September 2009, the Roundhouse Choir is rapidly establishing itself as one of the most exciting young emerging choirs in London and has consistently impressed audiences with its energy, enthusiasm and fascinating repertoire of songs. Beaty Heart and the Roundhouse Choir will make for a impressive collaboration.
Finding each other at the same parties or local haunts, CLOUT! formed organically from a group of friends, who bonded over record collecting and sonic equipment obsession.
French artist Sarah Leo, is described as a unique and undeniable captivating mix of Cat Power and Patti Smith. She will be touring over the UK from November with an EP coming out early 2012.
Waylayers are an atmospheric pop electronic laptop band based in London Fields who formed in 2010. The band took part in Roundhouse's groundbreaking 30/30 project.
