Reproduktion 13

4 May 2013 / Studio Theatre

Subunitfour is proud to present a mini-festival of classic electronic music, varying from post-punk darkwave and synth art pop to synthpunk, lounge electro and sequencer instrumental. Watch the trailer.

Headliners Attrition have been at the forefront of inventive electronic music since 1980, setting trends and innovating genres. Death House prefigured dark ambient 'isolationism' by almost 10 years, while the group's first two proper albums - The Attrition of Reason and Smiling at the Hypogonder Club - set the tone for the style now known as darkwave. Attrition’s stunning new album, The Unraveller of Angels, will be released in April.

Pioneering synthpunk band Naked Lunch was formed in 1979 and performed live throughout 1980. They helped to establish the UK electronic scene and were involved in putting together the infamous Some Bizarre album, on which their cult favourite track La Femme appeared.

Internationally acclaimed 'post-punk electronic balladeers Cult With No Name were the first international signing to L.A.'s Trakwerx label in 2007, founded by Jackson Dey Rey of American punk legends Savage Republic. Since then, the duo have released five breathtaking albums of mournful electronica, with guests that include Kelli Ali (Sneaker Pimps) and Tuxedomoon.

John Costello has conducted a love affair with electronic music ever since he bought his first single, Virginia Plain by Roxy Music, in 1972. John has released tracks on several compilations and is preparing a limited edition CD EP for Reproduktion 13, plus an album for 2014.

Mild Peril is the instrumental synthesizer project of Chris Gilbert, former DJ and club promoter in London's synth scene, best known for running the Electronic Body Music party Endurance for the last three years.

Special guest appearance to be confirmed. Read full biographies for each artist here. Download the EP here
