Guerilla Shakespeare: Romeo & Juliet

Guerilla Shakespeare: Romeo & Juliet

19 Feb 2012 - 19 Feb 2012 / Dorfman Hub

Sold Out

Following the storming successes of Guerilla King Lear and Guerilla Twelfth Night, we mark Valentine's Day with the most romantic play of all time, Romeo & Juliet.
As always with Guerilla Shakespeare, the performers have not met each other before, have had no rehearsal or direction and improvise their own props and costumes. The spontaneity and power of resulting performances is something which makes the Bard visceral and alive once more to a contemporary audience.

Following the storming successes of Guerilla King Lear and Guerilla Twelfth Night, we mark Valentine's with the most romantic play of all time, Romeo & Juliet.

Guerilla Shakespeare is a regular event staged by the renowned British Touring Shakespeare company at different spaces around London. As always with Guerilla Shakespeare, the performers have not met each other before, have had no rehearsal or direction, and improvise their own props and costumes. The spontaneity and power of resulting performances is something which makes the Bard visceral and alive once more to contemporary audiences.

Previous Guerilla Shakespeare shows have included King Lear staged in a 12,000 square foot monolith in the West End and Twelfth Night by candle light in a crumbling Victorian hall in the docklands on the twelfth night of Christmas.
