21 Jul 2012

Event cancelled

Due to unforeseen circumstances, FORWARD regrets to inform you that Carlou D will not be able to appear for the scheduled Q&A or live performance at the Roundhouse on 21 July. Carlou D is very sorry he cannot attend and apologises to all of his supporters who were looking forward to the events.  However FORWARD have secured Atongo Zima as a replacement so the Fundraising concert will continue with previously-confirmed performances from WEIRD MC and Seye. We will, of course, refund all payments for the Q&A but hope you will still join us for a night of amazing African music and to support the work of FORWARD.

Conversations with African Male Artists: Music, art & the role of men in the campaign to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)

Senegalese superstar and FORWARD ambassador Carlou D with special guests in conversation with Ade Daramy will discuss the crucial role of men in the campaign to end FGM and also the power of music and other art forms as a platform for achieving social change. You will also have the pleasure of listening to a short acoustic set by all guests.

Carlou D started his career with the Hip Hop act ‘Positive Black Soul’, since then he has gone on to collaborate with artists such as Youssou N’Dour. He has supported various women's organisations in Senegal and has strong beliefs about the power of music in achieving social change.Check out Carlou D here
