Dubbed as one of the most exciting voices in contemporary folk, Kate Stables performs her entrancing and poetically profound live show with her folk outfit This Is The Kit as part of In the Round.

With four albums to date, Stables is critically lauded for her rich vocals and instrumentals combining arrangements of banjo with gentle percussion, brass and guitar to form dreamy psychedelic melodies.

Formed in 2003, This Is The Kit have seen a steady rise to the mainstream, having picked up regular support from BBC Radio 6 Music DJs in 2015 for their break out third album “Bashed Out”.

For their latest record, “Moonshine Freeze” Stables’ enlisted long-time collaborator John Parish (PJ Harvey, M Ward, Perfume Genius) to produce the album and encompasses ideas of folklore and oracles, exploring the notion of human beings trying to understand both the universe and their individual place within it.

The evening will be supported by folk singer on the rise Odetta Hartman.

Now in its fourth year, In the Round is our series of one-off intimate seated gigs that put you closer to the music. See the full line-up here.

Roundhouse turned my world around. It’s a really special place and I wouldn’t be where I am now without it.
