Dexys will headline the Roundhouse this summer:

Roundhouse is a stand-up venue, so it will be something different for us. Until this point, almost all of our shows have been in sit-down theatres, but we’re up for it and we know the show can work well in this interesting building. The performance will basically be the Glastonbury set – a slightly edited version of the One Day I’m Going To Soar show, plus a few favourites. Sadly, Madeleine Hyland is unable to do the shows, but we are delighted that Siobhan Fahey will step in to play the female role. We’re sad that Maddy isn’t with us, but really feel good about Siobhan’s involvement. Look good, you know we will.

The One Day I’m Going To Soar show has been a critical success wherever it’s been performed, most notably during a two week run at the Duke of York’s Theatre in the heart of London’s theatreland.

There will be other gigs this year but few as big-hearted and downright brilliant as this.

The practice of playing albums in their entirety like this is traditionally reserved for a band revisiting a classic album, not launching a new one. The high-stakes drama and the sheer confidence in the album’s songs felt like there was no other logical way to do it. The stuff of brilliance itself!
