Roundhouse 360° Neighbourhood Parties – 2005 - 2006
A number of existing Roundhouse 360° Founding Members have generously been hosting parties since February 2005 in their homes to highlight and introduce others to the Roundhouse 360° Founding Scheme. During the evening Roundhouse Chief Executive Marcus Davey gives a short informal talk about the past, the present and the future of the Roundhouse, reminding those present of the many incarnations of the building and the historic events that have been held within it. Others are thus introduced to the scheme and encouraged to take part and join the Roundhouse revolution!

An Evening of Music and Words – 6 October 2004
The huge, glass-roofed atrium of Sir Sydney and Lady Lipworth's pool room provided a wonderful setting for a fundraising event in aid of the Roundhouse on 6 October. The Lipworths generously offered the use of their beautiful St. John's Wood home for an intimate concert and dinner for 120 guests.
The swimming pool was covered, the stage set and the room transformed by Committee members Helen David and Georgina David, who designed the event with a simple white theme and vibrant coloured flowers, provided by McQueens.
Five outstanding artists donated their services for the evening: Simon Callow became Master of Ceremonies for the performance and recalled his first engagement at the Roundhouse — a shimmy to the very top of the roof to raise a flag over the glass lantern! Simon, Juliet Stevenson and Lindsay Duncan read poems and prose around the theme of "water". Imogen Cooper played some beautiful "watery" pieces by Ravel, Satie and Liszt and accompanied the centerpiece of the concert, Debussy's cello concerto in D minor played by Adrian Brendel.
Following dinner Roundhouse Trustee Genista McIntosh, gave an inspirational presentation with two members of the Roundhouse Youth Advisory Board, Georgia French and Dayton Bryan, who talked about what the Roundhouse meant to them.
An exciting raffle helped raise funds for the Roundhouse redevelopment. The main prize was the chance to loop-the-loop in a Tiger Moth, donated by Roundhouse Chairman and Tiger Moth enthusiast, Torquil Norman.

360° Founding Membership Scheme drinks reception – 27 April 2004
On 27 April, the Roundhouse hosted a Drinks Reception to celebrate its recent achievements and to introduce guests to the 360° Founding Membership Scheme.
The Drinks Reception was hosted by Tony Elliott, John Ormerod, Philip MacDanell, Helen and Colin David and Bruce Hyman and was held just a few days before the building works started. This allowed the guests to see the Undercroft, the future location of the Creative Centre, and the main performance space before the redevelopment.
Marcus Davey, Chief Executive of the Roundhouse Trust, informed guests of the redevelopment plans and ways in which they could support the fundraising campaign.
The Drinks Reception was very successful and resulted in new members joining the 360° Founding Membership Scheme and many guests offering their time and knowledge to the project.
The Roundhouse would like to extend its warmest thanks to Colin and Helen David for their generosity.

Fundraising dinner at the Groucho Club, Soho – 29 October 2003
The Rt. Hon. Tessa Jowell MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, was guest of honour at a Roundhouse fundraising dinner on the 29th November 2003.
Guests joined us for dinner at the Groucho Club in Soho where the Minister spoke of her commitment to the Roundhouse vision, and especially our work with young people. The Minister said:
"I have no doubt that the Roundhouse will change the lives of the young people directly involved in its Creative Centre. The impact on these individuals will also extend to the community around them, however. Through raising young people's expectations and ambition you break the cycle of deprivation and wasted potential that causes so many social problems."
The Roundhouse would like to extend it's warmest thanks to Gail and Gerald Ronson for their help and support and to the extreme generosity of Tony Mackintosh without whom this event would not have been possible.
