Internships and Work Experience
We have some Work Experience and Internship opportunities for young people aged 14-25 throughout the year.
Work experience placements are for school and college/university students or for young people on training schemes with other agencies. The length can be from one week up to three months, between 10-35 hours per week. We discuss the nature of the placement with the education institution and the students to make sure that the time spent together will be mutually beneficial. Priority for Year 10/11 pupils' work experience is given to Roundhouse Studios Members due to high demand.
The placement offer includes working in arts administration, technical support, marketing, front of house, fundraising, events, catering and more. All work experience placements are interviewed and receive formal supervision and personal feedback.
Internships are for young adults with training and qualifications who are at the start of their careers and want to gain experience and insight into work in the arts. The length of your internship and working hours can be negotiated to fit with any other work or study commitments. As with work experience, a formal interview will help us work out how both parties will benefit from the internship. Regular supervision, career guidance and a reference is offered in return for support with projects, events, programme management, administration, music, tv, radio and digital media technical assistance.
Internships are unpaid but travel expenses are paid (plus we provide a meal on full working days).
