Mentors and Advisors
We are building up a database of people from a wide range of backgrounds in the creative industries who would like to volunteer a little time to share their experience and knowledge with the young people who come to the Roundhouse Studios.
We are also interested in hearing from other people from different professional backgrounds who feel that they have something to offer: entrepreneurs, youth counsellors, etc.
We shall be appointing a member of staff to co-ordinate this area of work so that we can make the most of the opportunities offered and make sure they are matched with young people's needs.
We will make sure that Mentors/Advisors are supported by a Code of Practice which complies with Child Protection legislation. If you think that you could support young people in any of the following ways please contact us on roundhousestudios@roundhouse.org.uk with your contact details and a brief outline of your interests and a CV if appropriate:
- Panel member for Q&A sessions on a range of creative industries, e.g. fashion, photography, film, TV, radio, music, journalism.
- Individual creative mentoring for an emerging artist, e.g. young film-maker, music producer.
- Specialist commercial advice to small groups e.g. getting an agent, contracts.
- Creative feedback to young actors, singers, graphic artists, bands, etc. on work they have produced at the Roundhouse.
This is not an exhaustive list and we welcome new ideas from potential mentors/advisors and young people.
