In partnership with British Underground, Roundhouse Rising plays host to a night inspired by the history, soul and spirit of reggae. This specially comissioned night and SoundSystem will also be travelling to the legendary SXSW Festival in the USA and Brazil. The line up includes Lady Leshurr, Natty and RasItes.

Make no mistake about it, Lady Leshurr is the complete package. She began rapping and writing poetry at the age of six (SIX!), finding inspiration in the power of reggae legend Sister Nancy and later in her brother's US rap records over which she would compulsively rhyme in her bedroom, imitating, adapting and improvising on the MCs' styles.

Natty has long since swapped his hoodie for dreadlocks, and possesses a thoughtful take on what it is to be young in the inner city today. Using sounds from around the world he sums up modern Britain with soulful accuracy.

Until the arrival of the RasItes, UK reggae hadn't for a while witnessed the emergence of a young band of musicians intent upon writing and playing thier own material. RasItes music blends social realism with a joyful spirituality that international audiences are beginning to find irresistible.

As part of this special night, RasItes will be backing Lady Leshurr and Natty as they interpret their set with a rootsy reggae vibe.
