Fergus Dufton

Music has been very much a part of Fergus’ upbringing. As the son of a man who ran a disco throughout the 1980s he was exposed to a lot of the cream of pop music from a young age. Forays into his Dad’s record collection gave him his first taste of rock music and was the inspiration for spending much of his youth drumming in a number of bands at a variety of Hertfordshire and London’s grimiest venues (something he still does to this day.)
On his first day as a student at the University of Nottingham Fergus joined the university’s award winning radio station URN, presenting regular shows in his first year before being named Head of Daytime Programming in his second and third year. In 2009 he was named the Student Radio Association’s Best Male Presenter and presented a three hour show on BBC Radio 1 as a prize. In 2010 he received a Bronze award in the Best Entertainment category for his work on the Elections Show and was an integral part of the team that secured the Best Station prize for URN in the same year.
Since graduating Fergus had interned at BBC 6 Music and now presents Recycle Everything every Thursday on Roundhouse Radio.
