Jazzphonica

The Roundhouse Jazz Ensemble – Jazzphonica – is a group of musicians aged 14-21. Led by avant garde jazz pianist, Leon Michener, their work covers traditional, fusion, afro-beat and improvised jazz. They’ve performed at Short Circuit and supported Los Van Van at the Roundhouse as well as performing at external venues and festivals such as The London Jazz Festival. This summer, Jazzphonica performed at Canary Wharf Jazz Festival and Ealing Jazz Festival, and they also teamed up with the Roundhouse Poetry Collective to produce Generation Mixtape, which they performed at Whitechapel Art Gallery and Vortex. Read the Camden New Journal's feature on Jazzphonica here.

Jazzphonica are currently in rehearsal, and will be enrolling new members in the new year. If you’d like to get involved, contact sylvia.harrison@roundhouse.org.uk
