Bloomberg Volunteer Programme

Twice yearly, eight 18-25s not currently in education, employment or training join the Bloomberg Broadcast Volunteer Programme – a project aimed at supporting their entry into the media industry by equipping them with skills that will make them highly employable.

Participants receive 11 days of intensive training from media professionals in camera operation, live editing and post production, using industry-standard equipment. They round this off with 80+ hours of CV-enhancing volunteering as part of the Roundhouse broadcast team, streaming high profile gigs and events to global audiences, gaining hands-on, practice-based experience in a professional environment.

Previous participants have filmed the Roundhouse’s Turning Point, Short Circuit, Roundhouse Rising and Voices Now festivals and interviewed the likes of Nick Cave, David Byrne and Tinie Tempah. Check out some of their work in the videos above.

Next Steps

Past graduates have gone on to freelance filmmaking careers, film and TV courses in higher education, internships and paid roles at companies including: BFI; Vice TV; Fallon Creative Agency; BBC; Nutopia; Roundhouse Broadcast Team.
